Roger M Slater

I qualified (MB ChB) from Manchester Medical School in 1979 having obtained a degree in medical science from St Andrews University in Scotland in 1976.

I am a member of the Royal College of Physicians, a fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and a fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine. In 1988 I worked as Assistant Professor in Anesthesiology in the University of Iowa Hospitals USA.

I have been a consultant in anaesthesia and intensive care since 1989.

My 27 years’ consultant anaesthetic and intensive care experience has been in the University of Nottingham and Manchester University Hospitals and currently at the Shrewsbury & Telford Hospitals NHS Trust. I am currently the lead clinician in Intensive Care at the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.

I have published 40 scientific papers and written a book chapter in ophthalmic anaesthesia.

I have undertaken expert witness work since 2005.
